The most bountiful fishing waters in Florida are home to:

  • Tarpon
  • Redfish
  • Trout
  • Shark
  • Pompano
  • Snook
  • Cobia
  • Mackerel

Your guide, Captain Sean Tanner brings his passion for angling to each outing

He spent the past 27 years learning how, when and where to catch nearly every species of fish native to these waters. He’s living his dream, offering Dunedin fishing charters to the top inland spots along Tampa Bay. You’ll find him as enthusiastic as you are when you land a big one. He likes to say he is “all about putting fish in the boat!”
He’ll even take free digital pictures and email them to you after the trip. Reeling in Tarpon is a specialty of Dunedin fishing charters. That may be because Tanner has won the Sun Coast Tarpon Round-up All Release Division – twice! This is the guy you want with you to find and fight a tarpon into the boat.
  • He has earned his license from the US Coast Guard, and follows all regulations regarding safety equipment on board.

Many more great sport fish in Tampa Bay waters

Redfish: Our guests have been known to catch 20 or more in just a few hours. Many are over the size limit and have to be tossed back, but still you’ll be taking some home.
Trout: Are biting year round. Dunedin fishing charters captain tracks when the bite is on, and where. You’ll often snare a trout when you’re after redfish or snook.
Snook: This is light tackle fishing, and snook will test the tackle. They are so plentiful; you won’t mind having to throw the big ones back. You don’t have to travel south for this adventure. Dunedin fishing charters are right here and so are the snook.
Shark: Landing a shark is an adventure you’ll want to take again! Big Bull Sharks move into Upper Tampa Bay for the summer; these are among the most familiar waters we travel. Large, lightning fast Black Trip Sharks are here for the picking for many months of the year.
Pompano eat beach fleas, shrimp, and small fish. No wonder they find a feeding ground in the flats and bays not far from Dunedin. Some people think this fish is so flavorful all you need is a little butter to cook it.
Mackerel are speed racers! They are a big challenge in a small package, and a perfect catch using light tackle provided on Dunedin fishing charters.
Cobias are extremely strong, making them a real test of fishing skill. The biggest Cobia ever caught in Florida weighed just more than a hundred pounds. You’ll have no problem snaring a 20 to 40 pounder. They come down from the panhandle beginning in April.

Dunedin fishing charters take you on a boat specially-designed for fishing in shallow waters. You’ll enjoy our Hewes Bayfisher 18, which is large enough to accommodate up to four people. The boat is set up for light tackle inshore fishing.

Dunedin fishing charters are available in 4 hour, 6 hour and full 8 hour excursions
