Shark Fishing
Shark fishing pits man against man eater. Different kinds of hungry sharks are biting all year around in the inland waters of Tampa Bay. This is sight fishing. In cool, clear waters you will see your prey coming after the bait from some distance. It will glide by the side of our boat, and strike your lure powerfully.

For some people, sharks define adventurous fishing.
The image of shark fishing for novice anglers is trolling the deep for a killer. Here, it’s game fishing – a sport. The sharks are smaller, the water is shallower. This makes finding one easy. Landing it is still a challenge for even the most experienced enthusiast.
Big Bull Sharks come in spring and don’t stay long. They come inland to the upper bay, many tipping the scales at more than a hundred pounds. In the shallow waters your guide, Captain Sean Tanner has known since childhood, you will find Bulls plentiful, full of fight, but always ready to approach our boat when we are chumming. Once he bites, it’s all about control. You can win, but he won’t make it easy.
Black Tips and Bonnet Heads are here year round, so there is always shark fishing. As the Bay waters cool, they head to the warmer, shallow waters. You will see them in only a couple feet of water. Black tips are larger, often three to five feet long. They’re known to be powerful and almost gymnastic as they try to get away from you. Experienced fishers will tell you the smaller Bonnet Head shark fights just like a decent sized redfish.
By the way, shark is good eating. We bring plenty of ice with us to get your dinner back to shore. We also make all of the preparations, including tackle and fishing licenses.

About your guide
Captain Tanner has spent the past 27 years learning how, when and where to catch shark in these waters he grew up on. Shark fishing is exciting, and after hundreds of trips it still excites him when his guests are “putting fish in the boat”. He’ll even take free digital pictures and email them to you after the trip. This is the guy you want with you, not only to know where the sharks are depending on the time of year, but also because he knows a thing or two about landing big fish. He is an award winning Tarpon fisher and always fishes in his free time, too.
Part of the expertise of our charter captain is that he knows how to work around the weather. We make it our business to know when to take you out in comfort and safety.
