Tampa Bay Nearshore Fishing Charters
While the fish we can catch on nearshore fishing charters depends mainly on the season, the wind and daily weather also plays a big factor in our chances of getting out there in the shallow waters and reeling in some big fish. Captain Sean has lived in this area his entire life and knows these waters like the back of his hand -- maybe better -- and if it’s safe to get you out there to have a great time and catch some fish, he will. Here are some of the seasonal nearshore fishing charters we offer:
Sea bass -- a great tasting dinner awaits if you catch a few of these guys!
Grunts -- a lot of fun to catch, and a tasty dinner, too, grunts are one of the most common fish in the Tampa Bay waters.
Grouper -- one of the best tasting fish in our waters, the grouper can often be caught during nearshore fishing trips, especially if you’re with our captain! The state of Florida changes the season each year, which means we can’t always take them home, but if it’s in season, you’re in luck!
Kingfish -- one of the best fighting fish in the Tampa Bay waters, kingfish can get up to 50 or 75 pounds, and occasionally, even bigger. They are in season from mid to late September up through the 1st of December, with the peak months being throughout October and November. They are in season again from late March through April.
Sharks -- also lurking in our shallow, nearshore waters are a variety of species of sharks. Our captain is known for catching bull sharks, black tips and bonnet heads, and can give you a great nearshore fishing trip if you’re after a fun fight with a shark!
Spanish mackerel -- in season from mid/late September to the first of December, and again in late March through April. Spanish mackerel can get up to about ten pounds and are a blast to catch on light tackle.
With one of the best captains in the area at the helm, you’ll be sure to have a great trip if you go with us. No matter if you’re looking for a fun day trip, or to bring home souvenirs for dinner, we’ll make sure you have a great time. Call and schedule your fishing trip today!
