Catch your first Tarpon with us, or catch a bigger one than you ever imagined

You are bound to land your first, after a heart-pounding contest with this fish. Many of our guests catch huge Tarpon – 100 pounds is not unusual. We’ll even take free digital pictures to prove that this is no “fish tale”. Reeling in Tarpon is a specialty of Tampa Bay fishing charters. In fact, twice he has won the Sun Coast Tarpon Round-up All Release Division. This is the guy you want with you as you go for one of the giants of coastal waters.

Going after the terror of bay area waters – the shark

For some people, this defines fishing adventure. In spring, the Bull Shark wants to feast on chum at the end of your line. They come inland to the upper bay, many tipping the scales at more than a hundred pounds. In the clear waters, you can see your prey coming from yards away, heading for your bait. Once he bites, it’s all about control. You can win, but he will challenge you.
By summer, Tampa Bay fishing charters guests are nabbing large, speedy Black Tip Sharks as well as smaller Bonnet Heads.

Captain Sean Tanner introduces himself
I have spent the past 27 years
learning how, when and where to catch nearly every species of fish native to these waters. This life long passion became my career: running Tampa Bay fishing charters. The best thing about being a fishing guide is witnessing the enthusiasm and excitement of every client.
This area has always been my home. I’ll make your trip memorable and give you the benefit of all I know about putting fish in the boat. Let’s fish together soon.

Early morning, late afternoon, and night fishing

While spring fishing is delightful at almost any hour, during the hottest times of the year, we recommend the coolest times of the day to fish. It’s for your comfort, and it’s also about the bait hatch that brings every predator in for a feeding frenzy. The flats of the bay fill up with sardines. Summer is inshore fishing at its best. It’s why you’ll see anglers casting from onshore. Of course, going where the fish are feeding is the best way to bend a rod and reel one in.

Part of the expertise of Tampa Bay fishing charters is that we know how to work around the weather. We make it our business to know when to take you out in comfort and safety.
